Snowed In Rachel Hawthorne Books
This book was SO CUTE! I read it in one sitting and I loved it! It read more like a short story with lesser developed characters and a bit of feeling rushed. However, that aside, it was ADORABLE! Perfect for a quick and easy read while drinking some hot beverages. Which this book definitely makes you need! Considering there is a bunch of snow, EVERY WHERE! Oh, how I wish that was my town! I LOVE SNOW!Speaking of snow, this book is about Ashleigh Sneaux and I really liked her as a character. She reminded me a lot of myself. A girl with daddy issues and afraid of getting hurt. So afraid that she set this rule about not having a boyfriend until she was way older. So, she would go on a few dates with one guy and move on to the next. It was an endless stream of awkward first kisses. And then she meets a guy who makes her think about him all the time. She's never done that before and this guy makes her want to throw her rule out the window.
It starts off with Ashleigh and her mom moving from Texas to way up north to an island town on the Great Lakes, where there is a lot of snow. Her mom and dad got married young and then got a divorce so they decided they needed a change. On her first day living there, she meets a few of the kids her age who live there year round and even snags a date. I liked most of the characters. There were a couple I wasn't too fond of, but then again, you can't like everybody, right?
This book is light and heartfelt. It was such a quick read and definitely gets you into the wintry spirit. So if you're looking for something that gives you snow and keeps your heart warm and fun to read, this book is definitely it. Even though there was no Christmas within the book, it takes place on winter break and still got me in the spirit of the Holidays!

Snowed In Rachel Hawthorne Books Reviews
So first off, I loved this book. The ending is what totally made it for me. Maybe it was cheesy, but it was funny and romantic, so that worked for me. Only a couple things.....I thought it was weird how fast they started to like each other. I mean they had conversations that I don't think anyone would have the first time they meet. But maybe that's just me. And I thought Nathalie was super annoying. This book is kinda corny, but in a good way. It'll leave you with a cozy romantic feeling, and if you like books like that, then you'll love this like I did! I'll definitely be checking out the author's other books.
Ashleigh is now living on a small island in Michigan with her mom. Not only is it "-1000 degrees" it's also hard for her to thaw out. Within the first day of being at her new home she meets Nathalie, her soon-to-be new best friend. Not long after moving in, Ashleigh is drooling over two very hot guys Chase and Josh. She's attracted to both of them, but the one that's got her "heart beating" and "toes curling is off limits" due to him already having a girlfriend (who happens to be her friend Nathalie).
Though she is trying to avoid Josh it's nearly impossible when he and his dad are working on fixing up her mom's bed and breakfast. Though she likes Chase, she can't stop thinking about Josh. And I don't blame her I can't even stop thinking about Josh. But will an accident, that should never have happened, change how she wants things? And will she break her vow not to have a boyfriend until she gets older?
I recommend this book.
Erin's Rockin Reviews
Last week I asked by bookish friends on Twitter for recommendations of some good Christmasy/ winter set YA books and Snowed In came highly suggested. Gotta say this was an a fun read. I think I may have found a new favorite author in Rachel Hawthorne!
Ashleigh and her mother have just moved from scorching hot Texas to a tiny remote island in the Midwest where there is no motorized transportation and the local scene is tight knit. The homes are historic Victorian cottages complete with turrets, one of them turned Bed and Breakfast by Ashleigh's mom. Main Street is famous for handmade fudge whipped up by two other teens in the town, Chase who flirts with all the fudgies (tourists) and Nathalie who has a long standing boyfriend of five years and claims right off to be Ashleigh's best friend. Her new home even has a local lumber jack, or at least a cute dark haired handy man who looks exactly like one! How can Ashleigh possibly ignore Josh when he shows up every day at her house to do repairs with his dad? Who knew stenciling walls with someone could be so intense?
Everything about this book is quaint and magical. Snowed In is a light romance and the storyline between the two main characters unfolds at a perfect pace. If you're looking for a good short book to curl up with during a snow storm this is it! There is some swearing and lots of kissing, but overall it's clean for teens.
