First off, I was pleasantly surprised by the new Kindle Fire in general. Its speakers, for one, are absolutely astounding. Having said that, while Mayday is a great tool, what I really wanted was a reference guide that I could refer to when in a jam. This guide was it.After perusing this guide for just one night, I was able to use my new Fire with much greater ease. I thought the multitasking feature was especially hidden, and without this guide, I would not have known about this vital way to navigate my device.
I tried a couple of others before reading this one, but the other guides made me read paragraph after paragraph. This book gave me everything in task-based, step-by-step format. There is no fluff and everything in this book is explained as if you are talking to someone who has never held a tablet before. Excellent!

This book has a lot of good information in it, but I've found that I don't use it as much as I thought I would. It's much easier to use the Help Button on the Fire anytime you need assistance!
As far as I'm concerned this book was not written for the novice. I thought it would be more helpful to me but it wasn't. In all fairness, there were some tips that were helpful, but for a first time user, there were some chapters that were difficult to understand. Maybe, when I gain more understanding of how-to, I might feel differently.
WRITTEN IN EASY TO READ STYLE WITH LOTS OF SCREEN SHOTS SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON YOUR KINDLE. GREAT REFERENCE BOOK. LOTS OF WIDE MARGINS TO WRITE NOTES IF YOU WANT. THIS BOOK COVERED EVERYTHING I WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT OWNING KINDLE HDX PLUS TROUBLESHOOTING HELP. )
So far, it has not helped my problems. Thankfully, there is Support by phone. The Support people on the Fire are just too small for me to see. I get wonderful help with Support as they lead me through any problems. They have been very patient and understanding.
if you are like me you need a reference manual and the online tutorials just don't hack it - this book has not only solved several of the problems i have encountered but more importantly it has showed me how to use capabilities that i didn't know were on the HDX, such as miracasting - it's a great book, easy to read and understand.
Since I have never had a "tablet" before, and am long overdue updating my "electronic toys" ideas, this was very helpful to get me less "afraid" of this device and realize I hadn't "killed it' when i couldn't find or reach what I wanted. I'm still utilizing this information at a speed I can assimilate, and feel much more hopeful I can adjust to the fast-changing electronic world.
I had the first two Fires before this one, and thought I knew everything there was to know about these tablets. However, with the many new features that packed into this Jellybean device, apparently even I missed a few. I thought about contacting Mayday, but you have to have a specific question to contact them. I just wanted to know what I could do with my new device, and how I could do it.
I skipped some of the chapters in this book, but stopped dead when I reached the Tips and Tricks chapter. Here, I found very informative material, allowing me to learn all of the in's and out's of the device without sacrificing more than an hour of my time. The author gets right to the point and supplements his points with plentiful screenshots.
