This is such a helpful book! I've written songs, but never figured out why some stick and some don't. The author is coming from a successful career and writes like a father/expert wanting to share what he knows works--why some songs are hits (he says memorable) and how to write them. He gives assignments at the end of the chapters, so if you're really wanting to grow, there's a totally doable onramp. It's a really practical book, but I most appreciated the wisdom and coaching...deep, spiritual heart things are touched on--stuff you didn't know could have such a big effect on how and what you're writing. I highly recommend the book, especially for new or young Christian songwriters / worship leaders.
